I agree with this. And I look at it like I look at someone like Kyrie vs Iverson vs Pistol Pete. Those newer talents have the benefit of witnessing all that prior creativity and they can take it from there. Whereas the legends are usually originators that paved the way. Put 25 year old Michael Jackson in the mix with all his ability and he can witness all the creativity and ideas available now and then lets see what happens. Chris Brown MIGHT be more talented. Maybe. I don't think that is some disrespectful notion, but I think as time passes it's easier to fall into that recency bias. For me MJ >> Chris Brown.

Chris Brown IS NOT more talented than MJ. MJ was a better singer. Better writer. Better producer. Better Dancer. More creative. Can switch genres effortlessly. Music videos wouldn’t even be what they are today without the creativity and vision of Michael Jackson. It’s a REALLY stupid comparison. Like EXTREMELY stupid.
