It’s dark but I’ve had this theory for the longest now.
I think the son was molesting Jonbenet. Either he had been doing it and she finally fought back or it was the first time he tried it and she fought him and he hit her.
The boy was like 9 even if he did hit and kill her by accident he wouldn’t have been in real trouble. But if he was a predator in the making then he could have been taken away.
I 100% think Jonbenet was over sexualized her entire life being in those pageants and the son was touching on her. It’s the only reason why the parents went all out to cover it up
