I never said he was a scrub or non-factor. Just said he was overrated. If you could guarantee me that T-Mac would've stayed healthy and maintained his level from 2003, then I would definitely pick him over anyone not named Kobe or Shaq (that I've seen play).

Duncan is still a top 10 player all-time. I just don't think he's as good as some people think he is. To me he benefited from playing in a great organization, with a great coach, great teammates, and great system.

Put KG in that same spot and he'd have at least 3 rings. Same with Barkley, Malone, etc. Duncan is NOT the best PF ever in my eyes, eventhough he has the best resume.

What great player with rings hasn't? :what: Kobe and Shaq had each other and Phil and played for the greatest franchise in modern baskeball history and I don't see you holding that against them. They also got sent packing by Timothy twice without a teammate anywhere near Kobe's caliber. Put KG in that spot and they lose something on D (KG grew into being a great post defender it wasn't always that way) and they lose a lot on post scoring. KG was still tryna masquerade as a SF when Duncan was winning rings as a dominant post force. :russ: Neither Malone or Barkley are on his level defensively.

he picked magic so you'll need a big guard

ur team would be better off just having LeBron at PG

I wouldn't be worried at Magic at PG on offense to where I'm gonna be scratching my head. Any of the 3 were excellent on-the-ball defenders with 2 of them 6'4 and used to defending bigger guards. If anything, I eliminated Kidd because Kidd eliminates a scoring/shooting threat. Magic wasn't the greatest defender in the world, so GP would give him fits posting him up and taking the fadeaway.

Lemme holla at KB on twitter. @Street Knowledge

There are a handful of players that could get away with that type of slander, and Mike is at the top of the list.

Of course it's dumb because Deke, Pat and 'Zo are 2nd, 6th and 11th in league history in blocks, but he had nasty, still talked about yams on all three and none of them ever beat him in anything.

:comeon: I don't think you want to bring up the matchups with the Lakers if your trying to defend Duncan. Kobe in particular has owned Duncan in their head to heads. In 08, he sent Duncan packing in 5 games with an inferior supporting cast (Gasol, Odom, and then no one......remember Bynum was out).

99 was a strike shortened year and Kobe wasn't Kobe yet, so it doesn't count. Only year Duncan legitimately beat Kobe/Shaq was 03 and that was after Kobe and Shaq already won 3 titles. They were going for 4 straight which had never happened since the 60s Celtics. Their 3rd best player was Derek Fisher. They were due for a fall-off. And even with all that they still were a wide open Robert Horry 3 in game 5 from beating Duncan again.

I'm just giving you my opinion. You can disagree with it but you ain't changing it. I think Duncan is definitely better than KG (though not by much). Didn't see enough of Malone and Barkley to know if they were definitively better. I just think peak McGrady was better.

:wait: :what:  :rudy:

If you want to be fair you should look at the kobe/duncan matchup when they were both the best player on their teams hands down.

You can't find this playoff series. Was duncan the best in 08 after parker won finals mvp?
