Over the past 30 years only 9 different teams have won the NBA finals.
Over the past 30 years 19 teams have won the World Series.
If you want to go with when the Yanks started their first run in 96 and shortly thereafter throwing money around like nothing 9 teams have won the World Series, only 6 have won the NBA finals and only one of those teams won it just once, every other team won it multiple times.
But Baseball is the sport with the parity issue

Angels are building a hell of a rotisserie league team, but there is a lot that can go wrong. Pujols and Hamilton are both aging power hitters who are oft injured, and now there is gunna be a lot of pressure on the two of them.
