Let's say Trump is completely out of the picture as he should be.. I don't think they can get Hawley and Cruz to resign and the rest of the GOP won't go for it. Unfortunately those two will likely end up receiving a pass through all this.

You get to the primary and I think Hawley and Cruz would be pushing each other further right while the rest of the field is trying to tow the moderate/old guard conservative which I'm not sure how much of an appetite is out there for that right now... If it was a 1 vs. 1 situation then a old guard might beat someone like Hawley straight up but if there's too many crowding the field then I would see Cruz dropping out and Hawley picking up whatever support he had and getting pretty far into the primary...maybe even winning.
