he was a game manager the 1st couple years. They won because of :beli: and the defense
Still doing this shyt in 2022

We were 5-11 in 2000 and 0-2 in 2001. Beli and defense still would have missed the playoffs if Brady didn't come in

He’s a good OC.
He’s a bad head coach.
He was never Brady’s HC so I’m not sure why we’re bringing him up.

They were 19th yards gained per drive and 22nd in passing yards overall. 190 passing yards per game & 18 touchdowns to 12 picks in 14 starts by Brady is nothing special. That’s on the defense, the running game, and the special teams. He was absolutely a game manager early in his career. The defense had 41 sacks, forced 35 turnovers, and scored 5 touchdowns while they also got 2 special teams touchdowns. That is not a team that won off the strength of its offense. Same went for the postseason. They had 2 special teams touchdowns in the afc title game and the offense scored just 13 points in the Super Bowl while picking up maybe 250 yards of total offense and went 0-10 on third down.

Go look up the Pats offensive skill position players that season. And then lookup how one of their best players - receiver Terry Glenn - got kicked off the team after a couple of games. That will explain a lot.

There's a reason in 2002 he led the league in TDs just by them drafting Deion Branch. (And despite Antowain Smith averaging under 4.0 YPC)

And again, why couldn't that same defense and special teams group do anything when they were 5-13 before him?

And you're ignoring the multiple game-winning drives in the postseason.

Brady wasn't lighting it up in 2001, but trying to act like he just carried by the team doesn't hold up

I said he was a game manager, not that he was carried. That defense was drastically changed from the year before too. 4 starters on the 2001 defense weren’t there in 2000.
