Nah, Gettleman values his Hogmollies so I see him going for D-line first then CB in the middle rounds. Norman was a 5th round CB afterall. Pressure on the QB is more important we can still find CB value later.

True this draft is extremely deep at CB...

I could see DL or OL in the first as well
I hear ya'll, but we coulda kept JNo (a known asset) AND gotten a DB or 2 in the draft. Gettleman and Richardson jumped the gun like shyt. Just hope the gamble works

And fukk Matt Ryan:obama:

I'm not implying he doesn't have a plan in place...but if that's how Gettleman felt from the jump, there was never a reason to franchise Norman in the first place. Franchising a player usually means that you want to keep them, and recognize that they are performing at a level equal to the top five paid players at their position. How do you then offer the guy a contract that's below that level?

I don't get how you don't throw his name around in trades, and try to get something in return.
I don't disagree with you I at least wanted him back a year to try and go back to the sb and also negotiate for a year... And we can't trade him if he ain't sign his franchise tender

I think that agent fukkery played a huge part in both sides parting ways ...

Gettleman won't petty tho and allowed him to go get what we wanted ...and ain't risk Norman holding out or something

And cause we gotta pay Short and Star soon we couldve kept Jno but at the risk of losing important pieces on the dline ...

Gettleman is smart for not giving Norman that ridiculous contract that the dumbass Deadskins gave him.

I bet Gettleman was :mjlol:, when the Deadskins signed him to that crazy contract.

Josh Norman is good but not $50 million good. :mjlol:

I think they feared bro holding out ...

Hope we can find another ballhawk tho

IMA miss bros passion and it factor he brought to the locker room and field on Sundays...every team needs that bad guy...he picked up where Steve Smith left off ...we gone miss that this season ..

Although I think Kony Ealy plays with that same chip ...so does Trigga Tre Boston ...

I don't know. I think it was a shady move to know you're not ever moving off your number and then not let that man get his FULL value at free agency. The reason teams weren't lined up offering him contracts was because most already filled their rosters out via FA assuming he wouldn't be available.

Gettleman could've given Norman's agent permission to negotiate a contract with teams, and he could've easily gotten a 2nd rounder for the chance of getting Norman before he hit the open market. Either Gettleman didn't have a coherent plan, or it was to maximize the chances Norman doesn't find the contract he's looking for in free agency.

I don't know how agent fukkery could've played a role. shyt, the agent did EXACTLY what he was supposed to do.

How we have people in here who live in their moms basement thinking they are more football savvy then Dave fukking Gettleman I'll never understand.

If they didn't think he could be replaced then they would have made him hold out...and he might have lasted 2 games before he came back...

It was questionable considering the Panthers GM held ALL of the leverage. Norman wasn't sitting out no two games...considering he's only made like 3 mil to date. Seriously doubt he's sacrificing over a mil off his contract, he just wasn't going to do the offseason program. Bottomline, the Panthers got weaker. Gettleman gave up their second best, at worst defensive player...didn't get compensation, and now are hoping a strength doesn't become a weakness.

Josh, cully, breeland and Hall at safety.

We got an aggressive secondary. If Norman thrives with a good front 7 then we can get that soon soon enough
