We aren't trading Josh for trash like Hump or Pau so nothing to see here unless you offer us something worthy.

We gonna stick it out with this group. Offer trades but offer something worthwise, don't waste your posts posting trash.

..oh word? You GM'ing now?
Ferry is smart and I see eye to eye with him. Now if this was Sund or Knight. :to:

Ferry is looking to make the team a contender. You can't do that taking bad contracts especially when you got 30 mil of cap space in the off season. Josh is huge because he is a big chunk of cap space. We aren't resigning that bum.

Why Would The Hawks Want Pau? Unless Jerry West Is The GM For The Hawks I Dont See Why They Would Do That

Why?

Let's see... Getting Pau would allow Horford to slide over to his natural position at PF. Pau at this stage of his career is a center and can still give 15 and 10 with the right team.

Pau will be a nice trade piece next year because of his contract.

If Smith's value was so good, how come teams have not made any serious offers to Atlanta for his services?

It's better to get something in return than to let someone walk for nothing.

How cares if you have cap space because it's not like players are lining up to join the Hawks?

The only way you get players to sign in Atlanta is by overpaying them. Who wants to overpay a role player and make him one of the highest paid players in the league?

I guess you want another Joe Johnson in Atlanta. :stopitslime:

Atlanta To New Orleans
Either Larry Drew has to go or Josh Smith to go. One or the other. Hell, maybe both.

Josh isn't listening to Drew anymore and Drew is pedestrian when it comes to coaching. It's time to switch it up. Either fire LD or get a good package for Smith so someone else can get him in line.

Smith is leaving at the end of the year. Do you see him resigning with the Hawks in the off-season?

I dunno...are we sure that teams HAVEN'T made offers for him? Sometimes those types of things aren't made known to the public.

Plus, the Sixers had a deal on the table for him two years ago, but it was rescinded at the last minute. Mebbe Atlanta changed their minds....?

I think more likely, the Hawks have been unwilling to part with him for just anything...

Yet you want them to get Pau Gasol :lolbron:

So the idea should be to keep trading expiring contracts for players with longer deals all while continuing to downgrade in talent? Sounds like a recipe for success

At least some rumors would've came out by now if he had good trade value.

He has one year left on his deal. Next year the Hawks can use Pau to trade for a player(s) that wants to be traded or help facilitate a 3 team trade with Pau and getting back some pieces they want.

Only an idiot judges a trade right away. A lot of deals that are made in the league are made for the future. You might get back a player that might not be in your future plans, but you can use that player later to help secure the players you want.

A team is not going to give up young players for a player that might leave the team after the season, has to be paid a big contract, and has a history of problems with his team.
