Signing JR to 4 years isn't a good value. You could pretty much get what he gives you for much less and more efficiently :umad:

JR is mad overrated :flabbynsick: only reason he averaged 18ppg is because Woodson let him take any shot he wanted. Alot of scrubs could avg 18ppg if you let them jack up bad shots and play no defense with no risk of being benched.

Bottom line is contending teams would not give JR big minutes because of his liabilities and inefficiency

Dude what is your issue with the Knicks? we get it you think we suck and will never have a future...I literally see you in every Knicks thread

U were good up til the inexplicable use of cam. How am I mad? I'm pointing out that the Knicks have retained JR on the cheap as you indicated is the route to go. In this scenario the Knicks are continuing to retain JR on the cheap. All the name calling you got in your arsenal doesn't take away that JR's great at his role; minimize it all you want but it had success. The Knicks needing him to be more is where it fails but that was a result of injuries (Amare, Shumpert, etc...) and not intentions.

listen breh

If the Knicks ever want to contend for a title they need to build a real team.
Name one team still in the playoffs who has a JR Smith type role player.
A player who gets 30 minutes a game and takes nothing but contested bad shots and doesn't play defense or do anything else.
You can get away with his chucking in the regular season but not in the playoffs.
Knicks need to give Shump more touches and move the ball more.

They might as well at that price. either way that organization is fukked because they have too much money tied into Amare who was supposed to be their 2nd option:heh: Only trade pieces they have is Chandler and Shump packaged, neither one on his own is going to get much. As constructed this team wont win a championship and its going to take the plague running rampant through the Heat and the Bulls for them to make the finals. I think they can beat a Pacers team if they play well, but it's 50/50
Well every team in the east is playing to get to the ecf vs the heat . So the Knicks really only need to tweak it to be a that kind of a contender . I mean the last 2 years the bulls have been struck with injuries so it could Happen again .

He rebounds for a 2 guard and scores 18 ppg on 42% shooting . Shump just started getting his athleticism back to go with his improved shot so next year he will be a bigger part of the offense . But don't act like Felton wasn't 0/7 in game 6 and shump 0-6 in game 4 and like 2/10 in game 5

U jump in and out of rational thought breh. I agree with you for the most part and nobody is even arguing that. You're just missing the point or refusing to see it...JR wasn't brought in to be the second option, it was a result of injuries. He stepped into it and flourished during the regular season and in true JR fashion was up and down but came through for the most part and flopped in the playoffs. He rebounds and plays solid D so again you're just choosing to downplay it to suit your opinion.

Again nobody on here is saying JR should be the second option, we all know Knicks aint winning shyt that way. Point is the Knicks, if he does re-sign with the Knicks at around 4/24, are retaining solid talent on the cheap...I don't really see the # of years as an issue...enlighten me on that (seriously).

Redikk is supposed to get 4/40 , Marcus Thornton is paid 7 mil a year. Jr I getting paid value for a bench player that scores 18 ppg and 5 rb

Who did JR play defense on :skip:
Your missing the point here JR's game is not that valuable when you really look it at. I watched this guy at Denver for years and he eventually fades and becomes a liability. That Prigioni guy was playing better than JR but your coach refused to play him more minutes thinking JR was gonna snap out of his slump. Letting JR opt out and not resigning him is an addition by subtraction.

You sound like a troll. First jr had his career year this year and jr playing didn't effect prigs it was Kidd . Jr can score so when the team is struggling to score he will get minutes he shot poorly but grabbed 10 rebounds. I love how you keep acting like jr is worse than he is
