Move To Who? Whos Gonna Take That 3rd Year Of Lins Contract? His Last Year Would Have Been Damn Near The SUM Of JRs 4 Years :heh:

its an expiring deal... there's always a suitor for an expiring contract. christ man...do you pay attention to how the league works. The only 3 contracts that really matter right now are Amare's, Melo's and Tysons.

Locking JR SMith up for a guaranteed another 3 years isnt a smart move imo....considering how streaky he is and the possibility he falls off the grid off the court.

You're Not Taking Into Consideration The Other Options he Knicks Have At SG, Which Is NONE

The only fear I have is that he's gonna stunt Shumperts growth.

I think Shump can handle spot PG duties.

I just don't have faith in Woodson

Only way the Knicks will somehow get Melo a legit 2nd option is to move Tyson Chandler

after this postseason and his injuries good luck with that

in the meantime resigning JR smith for 5mil/yr isn't shyt, 5 million is nothing. Try to put a couple better bench guys around them and see if they continue to grow and reign in JR a bit more.

And you never know, Maybe amare can give you 2/3 of a season 20 minutes a night, would be nice.

If he took a below market deal than i cant blame the Knicks for resigning him. But with 4 years i hope JR shows some discipline and improvement at least. I know he'll never be the star that he could be with his talent but i would like to see him at least try. And not settle for being an erratic jump shooter. He is still young enough where he can improve yet old enough to where he's probably set in his ways.

JR is what he is the problem is hes too important to this team and that is not a good thing.

JR should be a player you get instant scoring off the bench from and if hes in one of his funks and not scoring you get him the hell off the court the problem is hes the only other scoring option besides Melo.

JR is not good enough to be your 2nd best player or consistent enough to be a 2nd option especially in the playoffs when your wekanesses are exposed and you're not playing the Bobcats or Kings anymore.

Yep...also when his shots dont fall the rest of his game goes down with it...yet Woodson keeps playing him regardless.

If It Happens, I Dont Agree With 4 Years

Imagine The Knicks Are Locking In JR So They Have A Valuable Trading Piece In Their Pocket, JR Could Have Gotten More Money In Free Agency

Need Scoring Off Your Bench? We Can Give You The 6th Man Of The Year For Below Market Price :skip:

Wow that's a helluva spin. :manny:

I think anyone with two eyeballs would have seen just how terrible and disruptive that guy is. Ricky Davis 2.0 is not valuable at all.

The problem is the Knicks NEED his scoring hes way too important to this team and thats not a good thing.

He should be strictly a scorer off the bench[which he is] who if hes not giving you instant offense you get out of the game he should not be so important to the team that you cant win a series without him scoring big every game.

they need his scoring because that's how they've decided to run their offense....it doesnt have to be built like that.

But as long as Woodson is here and so is JR he's always going to be a big part of what the Knicks do..and ultimately thats not going to get the Knicks anywhere.

While i agree Woodson isnt a very good offensive coach and there some thigns he waited till game 6 too do that should have been done way earlier the Knicks still dont have anyone who can create their own shot aside from Melo and Jr Smith[well against bad teams at least]
