The problem with a lot of the shyt athletes buy is that it has no resale value. Ultra customized houses that can't sell to other rich families, iced out jewelry no businessman would wear (i guess you should be able to salvage diamonds), and cars no one else whats to drive. So when shyt hits the fan, they don't have any assets to sell (of course their investments went sour)

Hope ain't got nothing to do with it... He was basically broke before his latest 3 year, 17 million contract... Take out taxes and agent fees, that's $0.40 on the dollar in net income at most, so it's really about $7 million or so... And he just spent $450,000 of that on an asset with basically no resale value... He has money left over for the future but a few more purchases like this, and it goes fast
