This is the Coli where a more popular name = better rapper apparently. Joe hasn't been relevant as a RAPPER for a long time now. And his battle against Hollow da Don was almost as bad as watching Canibus pull the notebook out.

Joe could put words together but the music was largely wack. He wasn't so good that he should be condescending towards JR regardless of how wack he was. Joe is alot closer to the JR tier than to the Black Thought, Styles, Beans, etc. tier and the same goes for the rest of those bums in Slaughterhouse.

Jr might be an and 1 mixtape rapper but Joe was doing the equivalent of playing ball in Lithuania.

Jr writer was one of my favorite rappers growing up. Easily the best bar for bar member in dipset.

This would have been boring back in 2006.

The worst part is that it reminds me how much we were robbed in the 90s. So many great rappers who put out projects and then faded away. Or didn’t survive the Afrocentric to gangsta to jiggy rap period.

Now guys stick around for 20+ years without ever doing anything noteworthy.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I didnt know people would admit to listening to joe budden. Dude was always wack generic artist. Just as generic as jr. Long winded ass joe. Take 10 bars to make a point joe.
Joe was prolly THE nicest nikka on Desert Storm. Outside of maybe Fab. And that nikka wasn’t scared to battle either. One of the first nikkas to do response disses by the next day.

JR Writer is 2004 personified. The style of rap drove off a cliff and exploded leaving no survivors.

Benny the Butcher is the closest we'll ever get to that again, and even he's cooled the fukk off in the last year or so

There are some guys on the Ballislife circuit probably making more money than pros. :manny:
Now you are just arguing to argue.....

Unless nikkas have their own Youtube following the you are talking out your ass.

nikkas was Jacking And 1 at first. Now nikkas is saying Ballislife nikkas getting more money than nikkas who play overseas... shyt straight comedy.

This is becoming less a Joe vs JR debate as much as it is a dipset history debate. And I think I figured it out it may come down to age.

I was in college in dipset prime. I was a fully fleshed out ngga in MY prime :banderas: So I could not only appreciate the movement, the ‘swag’ etc, but I could also fully appreciate it musically

To a YOUNGER ngga, maybe your ear wasn’t mature enough to appreciate the music :yeshrug: You was just listening for punchlines. That’s the only explanation I have for someone who thought a- JR was a better rapper than budden, and b- anywhere close to ‘nicest in dipset’. Ngga JR wasn’t even clearing Rooga. Hell Rell was on the ORIGINAL diplomatic immunity and stole the show at some points. JR was on the aftermarket DI2 with SAS n shyt :heh: Hell don’t forget Jim and Juelz dropped hood classic albums On My Way to Church and From Me 2 U. Yet y’all talking bout JR was clearing all them

Your dip set pass is revoked
