Breh, my original point was that as blacks make more money, interracial relationships increase, while within other races it actually decreases. You have been around blacks for most of your life, from high school and up, I've seen both sides (Detroit first then Ann Arbor) and its given me a different view on interracial relations, where while its not an epidemic (like I said originally), there is something to be said about the fact as blacks make more, interracial relations increase (again its the exact opposite for other races), its more about the trend as oppose to the actual numbers. Jrue can marry who he wants, but dudes wanna act like he didn't CHOOSE who he fell in love with. He did, period and there are reasons for that. When you have no true sense of culture or history (most African-Americans) , you see no importance in race/ethnicity.

lol Me too..born and raise in Seattle, then moved to Atlanta for a few years....and white boys/asian women stay dating outside their race...like I said before...a lot of black people with certain education and occupations...they are more exposed to other races since we are only 13% of the population...and depending on the city u live in...there just aren't gonna be a lot of black people on ur level...I refuse to tell someone to date and marry someone just cause they the same race (versus who they are compatible with) and everybody else will be mad at who u CHOOSE to be with for life....some of yall take this pro-black ish too far and it's just not realistic for our situation in America....integration completely put an end to only 1 race marriages

The issue I have isn't the interracial thing; I could care less about that.

I basically said most of what you said, Jrue chose who he wanted to be with and date, and I don't care. My original point (the one you first commented on) was merely pointing out the fact that as blacks get more money they date less within their race, its fact, and yet the opposite is true for other ethnicities, most of their interracial relationships happen amongst lower income levels. Thats it. You have an Utopian view which is fine, but nothing has really changed, interracial marriage is at the same level its been for the past 10-15 years, seperation will always exist, just look at the World, not just America and parts of Western Europe.

Perseverance is a very important thing, brothers. But, it will not be achieved through sexual intercourse, marriage, and money alone.

The black community is reaching $1 trillion in the next few years and that's with the current rates of black/black marriage very high and in the majority.

You speak on an ominous future world of black "dilution" when problems currently plaguing us exist at a high level regardless of the racial makeup of our brothers and sisters.

What are black/black couples doing, right now, to preserve our legacy? What is it a black/white couple can't do, to do the same? Are all black/white couple subjected to white assimilation?

Generalizations are not a great way to solve our problems. We need to look at the statistics, and then decided the problem. Not, go on with emotion.

This ain't bout money and I don't want to hear the fake outrage about black athletes not keeping their money "black". If yall was so worried bout black economics, there are a million and one ways for the majority of blacks to keep their money circulating in the community. Regarding bold the actual numbers sure don't validate that by much if at all. It's still high 80's low 90's last time I saw someone put a report up. I think people are talking out there ass to promote the agenda but hate to tell you dudes with no influence ain't doing nothing to shame the 10-15% that marry out into doing otherwise so why waste time. Yea. That figure represents black men that married black women. We know that already bro. When you see 85% vs. 15% or 90% vs 10%, you think, it's not a big deal right?


But what type of black men are those non-black women marrying? That's what the other poster was talking about. How affluent are those black men who marry interracially? You need a report showing the income levels of black men-white women unions vs. black men-black women unions. What level of education have they completed? White collar or blue collar? I bet if you broke down all the statistics in those interracial marriages, you would start seeing a trend

We know that Lauren and Jrue met when they were star athletes at UCLA, so it's not too far out to believe that the two had similar goals and aspirations, and connected from that. This was before either played professionally, so I doubt he was looking for a "white trophy." And she has her own career too, so she's probably not some golddigger who just looking for a payday.

Again, the bigger issue to me is how young they are, but that's just because I can't imagine being emotionally ready to get married at age 23.
