Jim Morrison was a drunken buffoon. Manzarek was the brains behind the Doors. Both mentioned were vocalists.

Okay so you don't respect him? The point is, neither of these dudes I mentioned played instruments and still got respect. I don't think a rapper particularly needs to be able to play an instrument to be respected, especially if they're a skilled rapper because that is a talent in itself, just like being a "vocalist" is enough of a talent.

Revisionist history. As popular as the Doors were they never won a grammy. Jim was a great songwriter who happened to play in a band. I think it's very important for rappers to learn to play instruments. There's a reason why the creative process is owned, operated by "others" because outside of Ryan Leslie and The Roots, hip-hop artists have to call in guitar players, keyboardists etc who happened to be non-black 9/10. It's even worse when they give live performances.

I don't put people who can't play instruments in the same light as those that can.

IM not saying Ye is gonna put the beats on him...However if JT continues IM sure Kanye will voice his opinion in a very public way.

As I said in the previous post I would love to see Kanye "PM dawn" him...I don't think it will happen, but one can hope.
