I came here to shyt on Kanye but nikkas hating on JT da gawd :to:

I think that some of it has to do with how people are really excited about Justin Timberlake making another album. If this had been anybody else with the same songs and production, I don't think people would be that hyped about it.

Basically, if OneRepublic made this album no one would've made a thread about it. Plus the fact that Kanye is being Kanye adds overall feeling that this is a classic album and Kanye is jealous, when really, its a decent effort. He has some nice tracks on there, but I'm not a fan of his music.

I knew who Jon Brion was from Fiona Apple's "Tidal" and "When The Pawn..." era. :salute:

But, I was :mindblown: to find out Mike Dean was a cac. His production credits goes back to the 90s on Jamal "Fades Em All" album. :wow:

I'll start my saying that I enjoyed all 3 of JT's albums. I think JT's response on SNL was warranted ('Ye took a shot, he sent one back). However taking more shots or continuing to take more shots it's the road he wants to take. Look 'Ye's not a thug but he's something IMO with the potential to be a lot worse to JT...and that's being CRAZY! JT doesn't wanna turn this into a "thing", fukk around and have 'Ye "PM Dawn" this dude in Yankee Stadium :yeshrug:

:stopitslime:

I fukk with kanye heavy but what's he gonna do besides have pusha write him a diss

This will be the equivalent of two bytches fighting.

It was a gradual transition. I started out playing guitar and bass on peoples’ records that I was mixing, and it eventually turned out to where I was doing everything on the record except the drum programming. At that point, I was given the chance to produce stuff I started doing my own drum programming and collecting drum sounds, and that’s what took me into producing. Plus, engineering for good producers for all those years, I picked up on shyt from everybody.

And that's why the genre will always have "others" involved/dominating in the creative process. That's also why the rest of the music industry gives the genre a major side-eye.

you do realize that there's some racial undertones to why the music industry doesn't respect music genres that is mostly known to be filled with black music artists, right? you think folks would be saying the same shyt if kanye and jay-z were white? :mindblown: please. look @ macklemore or whatever his name is. these folks would give his ass a chance to listen to his music simply because he's white. whenever a black music artist is at the top of their game, you'll have folks ready to shyt on them thinking they don't deserve that spot. it's disgusting to see how folks are ready to give justin timberlake all this dap and shyt when that bytch has no respect for music as long as he gets love and shyt.

that's the reason why 8 mile was so big 11 years ago where so many of these ignorant motherfukkers were willing to give hip hop a chance. the same reason why mtv actually was hosting mc battles in broad day. it's amazing how backwards this country is.

:laff: Cry me a river fool. Mike Dean like plenty of cacs recognize a glaring hole in the production of hip-hop and that's when they come in and :win:. None of those guys play their own instruments except for the Ryan Leslies and Roots of the world. If more "artists" took the time out of their busy days of ashing blounts and double fisting baby bottles maybe they could learn how to play an instrument.

look @ dubstep. do you see people giving it the same treatment as hip hop despite the fact that most of those damn dubstep artists are using the damn computer to make their music? last time i remember, skillrex was being nominated a grammy. :pachaha: david guetta too. we can even talk about britney spears. :laff: folks are ready to give HER the benefit of the doubt as a music artist and she can't do shyt. yep, you're ready to shyt on kanye because he uses a sampler machine? you do realize that the sampling machine, turntables and etc are actually instruments too right. if white people were predominantly all over hip hop, do you think anybody would doubt hip hop as a music genre? :laff: hell, people's whole view towards the culture would change overnight. you'll have turntables and dj equipment be seen as instruments. you'll have public schools teaching rap classes and turntable classes. as i said, look @ 8 mile for example. before 8 mile, folks were simply looking @ hip hop as some materialistic, violent, bang, bang, shoot them up and shyt. after 8 mile dropped, people were like "oh shyt. hip hop isn't that. battling is basically just rhyming while insulting somebody." you have people opening their damn eyes up simply because there was a white guy in the movie. it took the skin color of a man for them to actually open their minds up just like it took a skin color of a man to make them disregard an entire genre as being trash.

if you ask me, even if folks played their own instruments and etc, it wouldn't make a difference. the excuse to why folks wouldn't respect rap is because "these guys aren't singing, they're talking". the same shyt could be applied to rock & roll but of course, rock is known to be filled with predominantly white artists so there's no doubt between it's credibility as a music genre even if those guys can't fukking sing or talking and etc. a musician is someone that makes music. that's it. whenever someone mentions about how so and so isn't using an instrument and that doesn't mean they can be respected as a musician, you have to look deeper than what they're saying. you don't have to play a damn instrument to make music. are you even a hip hop fan?

Can Kanye play the guitar or piano? :aicmon:

JT > Kanye...That's why it's hard to respect rappers. They don't play any instruments. I wouldn't have most of them perform at award shows either. :yeshrug:

So you don't respect Jim Morrison or Frankie Sinatra either right?
