well, Joe Budden's that Rosenberg convinced him to start does like 50k-60k and occasionally can hit 100k, Tax Stone does around 50k, Combat Jack does like 50k, and lip service does 40k+.

Those are different. Since when is Tax's podcast about hip-hop? Budden is a emcee, but his podcast ain't hip-hop either. They discuss hip-hop if within a topic, but otherwise nah.

Combat Jack is tho. But i think part of it is cuz Combat Jack, Tax & etc are fall under the same umbrella while Joe's podcast & Juan Ep falls under Rosenberg Radio/Hot 97. They don't have as many shows & developed as much.

But IMO it's the best hip-hop podcast. They've been around since late 2007 & they discuss so much history with great talents, and most of all - they're passionate & engaged in it. Ciph maybe not so much due to his experiences in the industry, but hate him or love him but Rosenberg is knowledgeable & very passionate about GREAT hip hop (yes!). Plus they mix jokes in.

IMO Combat Jack was better when they were a team on the show. They were funny as shyt. From about 2009-2012/13 They've changed to straight interviews nowadays tho which isnt as entertainment TO ME.

Ya'll are right, the content of those podcasts are more so for the bossip, lip stick alley, Mediafakeout crowd. But even still Juan Ep has been at this for a while. There numbers are kind of light, maybe we should blame the listeners then

I don't think Juan Epstein is ever going to do crazy numbers due to the type of guest they have. In some ways it's an underground podcast which i appreciate. They have guest who other podcast probably never would. Who else is having O.C. and Lord Digga on their shows ?

I think this has been their best year, they have been more consistent and have had some classic episodes especially recently with the De La and Stretch and Bob episodes. I used to like them and Combat about the same but lately I find myself skipping a lot of Combat's episodes
