I been saying that, but these The Booth heads are too caught up in these Mr Magic techno-beats-in-heavier-drums called Trap music, and gimmicks that doesn't relate to quality of music.

Now even women and CACs are leaving mainstream rap in droves. Record companies are planning on going scorched earth on rap subdivisions on their labels very soon, and not many rap albums are charting much at all. Rap as a music force is DONE DONE. 2024 onwards its gonna look bleak because too many greedy stubborn c00ns refuse to step up their lyrical game and refuse to move on from those trap beats.

Trap Beats have been in high demand since 2004/2005...

Maybe we can find a way for Boom Bap to come back.

Premo would be making bank nowadays along with Pete Rock, Buckwild, and Lord Finesse.

:blessed:

Only difference is that there's a lot of cats who mumble and will make Group Home look like legends.

This goes beyond rap. Nikkas are bored of everything and the creative entities are out of ideas

Nikkas ain't going to the movies like that anymore, Disney is in panic mode, music ain't been poppin outside of Taylor Swift, the gaming industry struggling

Everything is :russell:now

Boom Bap will never be in high demand

Premo never stopped working. He's still active

The industry pushed Joey Badass and Cordae hard as hell and it didn't work

Best you're gonna get is niches like Griselda

Stop focusing on sales, start focusing on art and actually being a great artist…perhaps. So much terrible music by terrible artists being mass-produced and released by terrible people…focus on making better product that lasts and not just stupid shyt that little kids and white girls/smuts enjoy for a week and a half.

If the sales are down 40% they’re probably really down 80% since them streaming numbers is fugazi.

Nas, a leader in this, is showing you how to do it and everyone wants to try so hard not to notice. Focus on making great music, forget the sales, your fans/potential fans will appreciate it and show up for you in droves when you’re in their cities and buy your merch and support your outside endeavors, etc…money going crazy! Sales are politics…and it’s 2023, what even are sales anymore? All that shyt is smoke and mirrors

2023 seems down overall some of ya'll just wont accept this rap shyt is on its last legs though. Rock fans probably said the same stuff when that cliff was coming.

Every time somebody in the industry gives details about it low sales, execs shifting to house, rap artists aren't wanted anymore, somebody on here with no clue about the business is naming lies. They can't all be lying

The avg consumer is tired of hearing all this shyt. Drake is putting up human numbers compared to what he used to. They can't even go back to compare that album's sales/streams to his other ones, that's why all the PR on it is 2023 albums only. What more do you need?

yep.

Let it die. It's been on a downward spiral for well over a decade now. I'm perfectly content with not hearing another new rap song for the rest of my life. I have enough good music and memories attached to the songs that meant something to me. Looks like the rest of the industry is figuring it out as well now that the money is all about dried up.

If rap sales are down 40% (I don't believe it) and the majority of rap subject matter is black death, women hating, sex and drug usage :sas2:

What could the problem be?

Pirating? Streaming only and not buying outright? Gotta be something that's not resonating with the fans
Streaming is supposed to be better though. The album is literally in your pocket.. it literally uploads to apps on phones that you already have. People say you’re :flabbynsick: if you still buy physical. Meanwhile people like Drake be the only rappers getting mad streets in a week. Im
Confused.. and I saw a story on tv over the weekend saying that Latin music is killing over here in America.. they’re taking in billions. I just say make better music.

I love a lot shyt going on right now.....

but a lot of hip-hop coming out doesn't have song structure.

you'll have an album with 22 songs and 5 of them have hooks.

the vulgarity is pretty over the top. I love it but the average person is turned off by it.

bring innuendos back.

might help?
