Bron left a team who made the Finals in his prime to go to join to other top 20 players. That alone should have ended all this "King" talk. Kings are supposed to be ordained by God, and the Gawd has already ordained another, this Lebron James dude is fraudulent. :smugfavre:

Nothing wrong with the Dr. saying he would pick Kobe over Bron. It's his opinion and if that's how he feels that is fine. But let's see if him and other legends say the same thing in 10 years.

Bron can get all the stats he wants. Some people are still going to think Kobe is the better ball player for various reasons. It all depends on what you value in a basketball player. Dr.J might value somethings about Kobe that Bron might not do as well.

There's a lot of people that think Jerry West is better than Oscar despite him being statistically inferior.

kobe has a few things over lebron that might make him more attractive pick and respectable to the greats. he's been a student of the game and its history from virtually the start. his pops was a pro ball player which contributed to that. kobe was coached by one of the greatest coaches ever which also contributed to him being a hard worker and student of the game. kobe's overall knowledge and respect for the game and it's history outpaces lebron's.

lebron has been more about having fun and using his athletic dominance. than being a student and historian of the game. that's started to change over the years, but slowly. he's kind of like a goofball who started to mature later in life. i think a lot of the greats feel a certain way about lebron crowing himself king and the media following suit. partially his doing and made worse by the media.

the championships also matter greatly. no disputing that. but all that said, what these greats have to say right now is fine. it lacks perspective and isn't on equal footing since kobe is in the twightlight of his career and lebron is just starting to peak. they could change their mind once lebron gets closer to the end of his career. and imo he doesn't need to win more titles than kobe to sway the conversation among those cats that don't necessarily like him now.

Kareem turned a team with less than 30 wins, into championship contenders his first year with over 55 wins and a trip to the division finals. In comparison, Jordan improved his teams win total by 11 and then lost in the first round. The impact is, by far in huge favor to Kareem.

Michael Jordan was an all time great no doubt, but when you unmask the beast that was Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the facts just show he was the better winner, leader and champion.

Not really a coincidence as to how much he impacted his teams success.

How many finals did kareem lead the lakers too before magic arrived? 0

The lakers missed the playoffs at the time for the 3rd time ever lead by kareem

The lakers won a closeout game WITHOUT kareem.Bulls would never win a title without Jordan.

Magic>>>>Kareem

Jordan>>>>Both

The Lakers had some of the most talented squads of all-time. I don't see that as a knock to Kareem. And we don't know if the Bulls would win a Finals game without MJ. They never got the chance. :ld:

how many championships did Jordan win without Pippen? how many did LeBron win without Wade and Bosh?

When Kareem retired, how many rings did Magic win for LA? Had the same roster minus the GOAT.

To me it has nothing to do with stats. I just don't see how some of these people can look at the game of basketball and think Kobe is a better overall player than Bron is.
