Good movie. Hollywood stays slick though. Jewish looking dude gets a non-Jew girl but somehow the star football player DOESN'T end up with the popular chick. I know breh had some female pick him up early in the movie, but writing like that makes me cringe. Two people that should naturally be together somehow magically don't. Like if football breh was some random white dude, guarantee he'd be smashing the little pawg at the end instead of her crushing on that other dude.

Someone was telling me they saw this yesterday, I have no interest, but it brought back memories of reading the short story in like 3rd grade, and seeing the movie in 1995, as I was 10. From a adaptation to a remake, to a sequel of the remake, marketed to a generation that has never seen the original or read the story. The star of the 1995 version hung himself in 2014, and I am now 32 years old.

#1 again...about to pass up Furious 7 and will be Rock's biggest Domestic hit by Monday.
Internationally, Johnson has had bigger hits in the last two Furious films which both went well over a billion dollars in worldwide totals. Still, Jumanji is more impressive in that it cost a fraction of those film’s production budgets at $90 million vs. Furious 7’s $190 million and Fate of the Furious’ $250 million. Those films have very strong established fanbases across the world as well, while Jumanji is the continuation of a franchise that has its fans, but wasn’t a huge hit even when the first one was released. Welcome to the Jungle is targeting an easy $370 million by the end of its domestic run and could get as high as $380 million depending on how it holds up against next week’s offerings

Suffice it to say, Sony’s very happy here and Johnson’s star couldn’t be higher right now.

I liked this more than I thought I would. Even Kevin Hart, who I usually can't stand, did a good job with his character - a dumb jock whose ego can't take being reduced to a goofy midget. All the actors were good though, might have to catch the sequel.

I can't believe I saw this in theaters in December 1995, when "Heat" was playing a few theaters down, I was only 1o.
