The Virgin Islands I believe became an American territory after slavery was abolished but I could be wrong but you're right about her being part ADOS.

Yeah, it didn't become an American territory until 1913, I'm just pointing out that Black folk from there also had a history of slavery in the same way and their work was appropriated by White folk in the same way and is now part of American wealth in the same way. Just pointing out that it would be stupid and illogical to have a different view of slavery just cause one of your ancestors was from the Virgin Islands.
