Apparently there are potentially groundbreaking talks between WWE and NJPW on talent sharing and cross promotion, beyond just having Jushin Thunder Liger at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.



Speculation seems to veer as to how this will affect ROH - Some say they'll get cut out (and that a grudge is being held over the Kevin Steen action figure, of all things), but it seems the common safe bet is banking on both stateside companies to make more money by working together.

My opinions? Anyone who watched Beast In The East, and all of the surrounding programming around it, was probably shocked in some way by the unprecedented acknowledgement and outright naming of other promotions and accomplishments. You've had mentions and sporadic nods over the years, but this was an embracing like none other.

Everybody can have their lane and strengthen each other. There are clearly folks with a vision, the connections to make things happen, and the diplomacy to see the money right.

Very interesting to say the least. A lot of dream matches on the table to be sure. I'm always weary though when Vince is involve. I wouldn't want NJPW guys coming in to be neutered character/moveset wise.Taker would be backstage hitting Okada with the for using the Tombstone

Yeah, Vince hates cross promoting and no way in hell he allows any interesting stuff with New Japan besides shows like Beast In The East or one-offs like Liger.

This really seems like Vince/Hunter trying to prove they can do indy wrestling better than indy promotions. ROH wants to do a medium sized venue with New Japan close to Summerslam? Well let me book Barclays Center for my "indy" and book a New Japan legend. Same old petty shyt imo




If we do get 1 show a year in Sumo Hall with WWE/New Japan talent though fukk man, do it like in the 90's and book the Tokyo Dome. It can be done with enough promoting

The thing is a lot of the fans that go to the shows don't know other wrestlers . I have boys who do ppv get togethers, buy merch go to house shows in NYC area and only watch the wwe. They had no idea who zayn Neville were when they were fighting on house shows and when they signed steen devitt Kenta were like the good thing is since that San Jose nxt house show wwe seems to be all in on nxt and hardcore wrestling fans
