Just is a fukkin legend. So many dope beats cant even begin to name his best.
This right here. I think he had the potential to be top 5 DOA. He is so skilled and can do any style. Just lost his inspiration for the most part though.

I’ll never get tired of this story about how PSA came about.

If Just Blaze wasnt a diehard gamer, he would have taken over the game on some legendary shyt. His soul samples and drums NEVER get old. Production from 15-20 years ago, still sounds fresh and majestic.

His legacy would have cemented him GOAT and probably eclipsing Kanye. Still a top 10 producer for me.
You heard any of the joints he’s been doing with Griselda? They all sound fresh. He hasn’t lost a step.

Had a great run but it's a damn shame that his legacy basically ended in the mid 2000s while Alchemist and Madlib are still out here killing shyt. Kanye was relevvantt up to at least 2014.

But it always felt to me like Just never really found his footing after the Roc's demise.

Not to say he didn't produce a lot of great shyt after that, he certainly did and some of his biggest hits. But he never had that connection with another rapper the way other great producers have after his collabos with Jay, Beans and Free.

He tried with Saigon but that shyt all in all was a failure from every angle. I know some people like Greatest Story but that shyt came and went. Jay Electronica was another one that had huge promise, but what did it lead to? Just a couple of great songs. Just wasn't even on Jay Elec's album in the end. His shyt with Eminem was trash. None of his link ups with rappers worked out (maybe it did with Em business wise, but it didn't produce good music)

He still has great one off tracks for rappers. But I feel he could've been so much more. His run from 2000-2005 is legendary though.

Was listening to a playlist of his tracks on Tidal. Dude so gifted. Damn near none of his beats sound the same and they are so versitile! Top 5 all time for me.

I always assumed Just didn't click with too many people so he didn't just do tracks to the level he could've. And Hov or TI or Em or Kanye every couple years dropped half a man on him, so he was cool.

He's still my favorite producer all time. I just wished he found that artist could match what he was doing. Jay Elec was lazy and Saigon was lackluster; they weren't it.

He didn't mention that black moon already had a single out that year with the same sample :jbhmm:
I love Just, but it's obvious he took some other people's styles (like Bink or Swizz) at some points of his career.

Anyway, I respect how he progressed with time and developed his own sound.
