Who cares. Dude is overrated as hell. He had a little run in the early 2000's until everybody realized most of his beats sound the same. And most of em didn't stand the test of time:yeshrug:.....he got maybe 5 beats that still sound good today. Just a bunch of trash horn samples over weak drums :hubie:.....he was hitboy before hitboy.
Just need to be around other producers. He don't work well without competition. That's why his music had no identity before rocafella until he studied the shyt he was mixing at baseline.

He is a technical dude but he needs someone to set the vision. In theory him and Kanye would have been great together but they both got their egotistical ways.

lol he is enjoying life how he sees fit and you're hating.

You don't care about him you just want free music.

Complaining about Just Blaze not producing anything in 2024 is like complaining about Jay Electronica not releasing albums or Kanye West being a c00n.

It is what it is
No I don't want free music I'm not a bum.

Y'all think he invested hundreds of thousands into a studio then flipped it again for nothing to just have fun? I think he uninspired. I want him inspired. I think he is looking in the wrong place.

It's amazing how so many people in this thread are flat out loud and wrong. Dude could easily do whatever he wants in rap now but the truth is, he makes more money scoring video games and movies than he ever did making rap music.

nikkas always think short sighted and think that being popping takes precedence over what makes sense business wise. Just because he's not visible doesn't mean he ain't doing anything. At this point his impact on rap is solidified so he only works with artists he's truly passionate about working with.

He also has a kid and family. Dude is doing fine.
I haven't heard him working on a project in a while. I don't discredit that side of his profession.

Most of the super producers from the 90s and 2000s ain't really trying to produce music like that anymore because there's just no money in it like it used be. Just could probably make more DJing a party anywhere at this point.

Timbaland is not just sending some random rapper a beat. He's just not........Guys are only going to work with people who they know are going to do huge numbers or people they're passionate to work with.

Just produced this for the Space Jam soundtrack with Lil Baby and got nominated for a Grammy

He did this for Beyonce in 2016

These are two of his last three productions. There's a trend here........

Music people hoarding gear and constantly switching up their setup just for the hell of it without making much music is not that uncommon. Plus he seems like the "collector" type. It's kinda like people who collect sneakers but never wear them. Not good or bad. But those types of people exist

Plenty of these ppl from the 90s and 00s are still creating everyday.

It actually makes me wonder if at some point we'll see a giant resurgence of great music.

You mean to tell me someone like Devante Swing just forgot how to produce/write dope songs?

He's a gear head/collector. Nothing is wrong with that. My problem is when these older producers are constantly telling younger guys, "you need $75,000 worth of equipment to get started making beats..". That's the bullshyt I hate. And I'm an older guy, but I tell people they can use whatever they want. Just Blaze is a hoarder, but he's not out here doing interviews telling people what they need to make music.

Just Blaze last year bought an LM1. There were only 500 of those made and Prince had 2. I know he had to pay at least $25k for it(or more). He's not going to make any music with that thing. but it's a collector item

Just Blaze is in a weird place. Hasn't really done any placements in ten years but likes to exploit the nostalgia associated with his era and be a pubic figure.

You can't keep taking pictures of mixing boards and DATs if people are never going to hear anything.

It's corny, really

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
What's he gonna sample? What we need is a resurgence of great RnB and pop bands so hip hop producers can find something to chop and loop again and claim to be dope. All great music of the late 20th century has been sampled already.

You now need the new generation to play guitar and pianos again. Play the blues and make Soul music again in a newer and fresher direction. Then you can have your 'genius' music manipulators to chop it up and make your hedonistic machismo rap music. :yeshrug:

I don't feel like we're missing anything.

Just blaze isn't a very versatile producer, everything that could be done to a just blaze beat has been done already. Someone should hit him up from time to time for nostalgia/throwback purposes but as a full on producer I think his time is done.

I'm sure if devante came back he'd want to have more of a babyface role, do a feature here and there, curate some shyt for a younger artist and perform every blue moon

These dudes are just much too busy when they get to a certain age to want to do music full time
