I don't think people really understand how hard it is to drink boiled water.

It's not like you just boil the water and then you drink it, you have to drink the evaporated water that you just boiled. It is a lot harder than it looks.

So in a time of crisis, not only do you need to have fire supplies, you also need to have a contraption to catch the evaporated water

Bottled water is generally a ripoff.

Obviously there are exceptions in certain areas, but it's generally not any better than tap water. There's science to back that up.

That’s fine for disinfecting but doesn’t address the other compounds in tap water.

Also, townships vary in water quality. I get occasional letters stating lead and halide levels exceed safety limits. Our supply comes from Newark.

The do have giant filtration systems..

But again, thats a distribution center..

You can put your own filter on your tap..

Brita only filter the bigger particulates. It does nothing to prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria. You're basically drinking water that has gone through a charcoal filter.
