Used car prices are crazy now. I'm trying to get rid of my car so I may look into this to see what I can get it appraised for.

My 2017 civic lx is valued at $15,500. :dwillhuh:

I bought it for $20,000 with taxes and fees included almost 4 years ago. Every time I go in for service at the dealership I get approached by the used car manager about him buying my car and selling me a new car.

Almost completed with my first Carvana experience

So far it’s :ehh: My Explorer is supposed to be delivered tomorrow :ehh:

I have used CarMax for my last three purchases and I had no issues. I moved from Fl to Pa and the closest carmax to me is in Ohio.

I wanted to get a awd Suv. Either Explorer, Telluride, or Palisade to replace my rwd F-150.
So I tried some local dealerships but I was eh. They talked good but the extra fees always turned me away. I did sell my F-150 to one of them though and got a good deal.

Decided to try online buying. First I almost went with Driveway. They operate similar to Carvana. I actually saw a Explorer off there that caught my eye and started going thru the process. Got my initial approval and they were supposed to email me my paperwork to sign etc the next day. They never did:why:

After calling multiple times I finally got a supervisor and she said the agent in charge of my purchase was off that day. So I’m like…. Soooo. Nobody else can send the info? Immediately bushed them and tried Carvana. :wtb:

Found a 2020 Explorer that I like. Low miles. Price was right. The whole process when very smooth I must say :obama: I will have my mechanic go over it when I get it tomorrow

Anyone else had experiences with Carvana?

I see mostly horror stories online
My lady bought a new Volkswagen Passat on there like 5600 mi. Got a great deal it came from georgia to kc and we drove to kc test drive it for the weekend and she ended up buying. That mfs got totalled line a year and 3 months in, she got hit. No lie like 4 different people from carvana called her just to see how she was doing, asking if she needed anything and help her with her claim. After everything got settled which was a smooth on their end, they tried to put her up in something else but she found something local.

It was weird because after it happened she called and spoke to a woman. Then like 3 people called her back two of them just talked to her like a human told her don't worry, she doesn't have to make a payment, explained what would happen and spent more time asking her if she was ok and being personable but not nosy "accidents are scary, im glad you are safe (as can be) ((she was injured))" "I'm so sorry that happened" etc.

And the last person she spoke to was like the main person to resolve the case/claim. It wasn't until everything was done that he was asked her if she was interested in remaining a carvana customer. She said she was but wanted to look locally and that's what she found. They seem to welcome her back with open arms, but you know they make money when customers pay. This was like 3 years ago or so.

I don't think they checked the credit and she had low monthly payments. Not some $700 payments but it wasn't like $275 for 96 months.

I don't know if they've changed but her experience was cool for what it was.

Years ago i sold my 2011 Dodge Challenger to carvana

They paid me twice as much dealerships was offering because of demand

Inspector just came out , looked over the car, drove around the block and gave me the check on the spot on what we agreed online

Easy process
