At Gamestop Traded in PS4 Pro and Modern Warfare which made Xbox Series X cost $324. Got home and hooked it up to my 1080p HDTV that I’ve owned for the last 14 years. For the past 3 years I’ve been playing Nintendo Switch and felt no need to upgrade.

But after looking at the Xbox Series X and noticing that unlike the Switch, the text seem mad blurry... I realized it was time to upgrade to 4K. Wassup with that shyt anyway?

At Target and Walmart learned that their TVs suck cause it doesn’t have native 120hz refresh rate and the ones that say TruMotion 120 refresh rate are fugazi. So I googled and learned Best Buy got the real shyts in the form of Sony X85J...but when I got to Best Buy the dude told me that there’s no point because its not HDMI 2.1 so he tried to sell me a $1300 48” OLED TV that has both 120 hz and HDMI2 instead.

His coworker walked by and said why you selling him that? Get him the X85J. I said yeah thats what I came here for. Then dude showed us where it said its actually HDMI 2.1. And so Dude #1 was like well now you need to buy an HDMI 2.1 cable and he went and grabbed one and said this is what I need to ensure you get the 120hz on XSX. I said wtf why I gotta buy another cable don’t it already come with that 2.1 shyt? We googled and learned that it does however XSS doesn’t.

Anyway on my way back home with new TV hopefully some of the games I started downloading before I left is done cause I wanna see what the hype is about. I only bought the 43” so the TV costs $749 which ain’t bad at all plus I’m getting $75 back in store credit cause I’m paying this off.

Anyway just thought I’d post this thread cause I didn’t see the official HDTV thread. I wanted to ask questions in there but it ain’t stickied and I ain’t searching. I wonder who else has this TV I need to read more reviews.

Edit: Just realized I saved $600 by not giving a fukk about tryna get OLED.

A TV is one of those things you’re gonna keep for a few years.. I don’t get why people skimp on them if they got the bread.

You got a 43” …Take that shyt back.. 4K makes kettle sense at that size unless you’re sitting close enough to use it as monitor.

43" :hhh:

Anything under 55 is inhumane. And that one size should probably be on the bedroom
I watch tv in the living room but play games only in my bedroom. I don’t be doing all that extra multitasking shyt outside my bedroom

I was almost OLED gang but I got paranoid and returned it. Got spooked by the burn in shyt.
The burn in problem has been mostly solved for 3ish years. You have to get a defective set, or do something retarded to burn in a '21 LG. If you do, LG will replace your panel, in home for free.

Screen size is dictated by how far you sit from your TV. I only have a 50" but my couch is only about 10 feet from the screen.

Too big you see pixelation and you have to constantly turn your head

There used to be a screen size calculator on avsforums.com
