This game is a 9.5/10. It's amazing. Listen to the tapes for the story. Second best game of last year, behind Witcher 3
people just want the story served on a platter

Gameplay> Story

the problem for me was the lack of variety in the environments considering it's a huge game it gets a bit monotonous especially in afghanistan and a few more boss battles could have been included, otherwise the game was fantastic.

i will say though that the tapes were a blunder and probably the result of meeting deadlines for konami

i refuse to believe they thought that it was a good idea

however the single most disappointing thing to me about MGS5 is Kiefer Southerland

you go from witty and grungy david hayter to a guy that only replies with questions :usure:literally zero presence throughout the game

followed closely by ocelot. Guy goes from amazing in MGS3 to the most basic type npc you can think of

how does ocelot the most mysterious character in the series get relegated to that :why:

those two things had more of a negative effect than anything else imo, i turned on MGS3 the other day and while the gameplay is dated the dialogue is night and day

I liked the gameplay, i love open-world games:yeshrug: and the ending was great, with a great twist at the end
Venom and Big Boss both being Big Boss simultaneously was a great idea and is a great way to explain how he was able to rise through the ranks in the U.S. armed forces and build a rouge nation of soldiers in secret. Also how he beat Venom in outer heaven and not Boss the 1st time was:wow:

I agree with everything but would still recommend the game to anybody. I'd assume most casual players can play thru most of chapter 1, stop playing and still have a better and longer experience than any other game this gen give or take.

Huge fan of the MG series...

Worst game in the franchise in terms of story...

Best game in the franchise in terms of gameplay...

That about sums up MGSV

Pretty much, although I'll add this probably has the best gameplay of any next-gen game. The transition between stealth and action gameplay is ridiculously fluent, the adaptive AI is incredible and you truly can complete missions in totally different play styles. If they hadn't fukked up the story (or hadn't failed to actually finish the damn game), this would be the undisputed contender for game of this gen.
