Where do u find ur samples
and how long did it take u to find a sample to match dat?
mostly jacked from FL studio, use some other stuff too...took me maybe 5 min tops to find a sample. i heard it in my head while i was making it so didnt take long to find exactly what i was looking for.
are you subtracting frequencies or adding them? instead of raising levels, start with lowering them.
for example: bass kick reduce treble, snare, reduce bass, hi's reduce bass. it's easier to add than to take away, keep that in mind.

Zay the first beat was straight, but I felt you made better ones than that. Other dude remixed it and that shyt sounded hotter. It wasn't as generic sounding anymore.

do you mean like full verses or just chops? you can add em, just EQ and filter out any background sounds. it probably wont come out perfect, but it can be done.
dont focus on getting all these extra sounds. i have about 6 gigs of drum samples but i only use maybe 20 of those sounds. its not what you use but HOW you use it.

it's not. there's software that claims to do it and some techniques you can try (like phase inversion) but they really don't work. at best, you'll only partially remove them and the whole thing ends up sounding super shytty.
