I like the 8inch tabs because of the bigger screens as opposed to cellphones. Some things I like to do on the net I rather do on a bigger screen. I like being able to surf comfortably without draining my cell battery or sitting next to a outlet charging. I also hate filling out online forms on smart phones.. I get lazy and just wait until I can get to a bigger screen lol.

Also...other tabs like a droid or iPad are missing certain features that make a tablet let worth it. I'm actually thinking about ditching cable soon now that I can watch live nba games on first row sports...something I couldn't do on my phone because I had no flash....couldn't be done on a iPad or a droid tab either (not smoothly at least).

I will say...at the prices iPads are its definitely not worth it...for me its a convenience thing. This tab is dope though.
You can do flash on Android just get a browser that supports it.

A tablet is still a big iPod touch/android device to me
that's the whole point. when i'm away from home i use the smartphone but when at home i use the tablet. i prefer the bigger screen. my iPad Mini is mostly used but i also have a Nexus 7 to keep ties to Android. I check email, do online banking, bill paying, watch Youtube, surf the web, occasionally play games, watch Hulu and Netflix on them. I have two desktop PCs plugged up to both main TVs but don't always feel like booting up a PC to do very basic stuff.

Still looking at getting one of these tablets. I need an hdmi port but that Lenovo think pad 8 is a little too pricey. Might get an acer or toshiba instead.

While i do agree with your assessment that a full windows tablet is >>>> especially when u can install Bluestacks for android/ios apps .......but can't roll with that Dell Venue Pro 8 shyt with no hardware video out option besides the micro-usb port(yes i know it does widi but one should always want a hardwired solution) which you can't charge and use as video out at the same time. :scusthov:

Now if you'd have said the Venue Pro 11 with the micro-usb port for charging, a mini-hdmi port and a usb 3.0 port, then that would be another story. That tablet(with the i5 model) is the closest to the surface pro which is still the best windows tablet out but i digress...

I still like ultrabook laptop convertibles over tablets because you can extend the age of them years down the road when you'll want to swap a newer bigger hard drive and ram. The game changer is coming tho for tablets when they start implementing the use of cellular broadband directly in the tablets, ie no need for wifi or a hot spot when you're on the go.

You're talking about Windows tablets right?

Just tablets in general, I keep seeing online where a few are prepped to come out with that feature for cellular broadband usage. I think it will start to make tablets much more attractive than ultraportables. I personally would want a full windows tablet with that LTE speed so I can use full Plex and Spotify in the truck without paying for premium. :lawd:

Another blurred line tho is these big ass phones that are coming out now like the Samsung Galaxy Mega, HTC One Max and Nokia Lumia 1520. Those use mobile OSs tho so full windows in my mind is the holy grail cuz u will eventually be able to fully emulate the mobile platforms from windows but not the other way around.

iPads and some Android tabs have 4g capability for awhile. Not sure about Windows tabs.

Yea you're right. I guess I was focusing on windows tablets. That ability to use full programs virtually anywhere in a compact size is gonna make those tablets unbeatable in my mind. I'm starting to move away from IOS and not sure Android is light years better.

I'm not a fan of big ass tablets....I like then 8 inch tablets... hold them with one hand and can type with your thumbs just like a phone... much better imo. Ive had the iPad 2 and iPad 3...was annoyed at typing on them unless I whipped out a keyboard... sometimes I wanna type without using extra hardware and the 8 inch tabs allow me to do that easily.
