I had just over 3k last year and got back over 6k this year. Apparently we get back more money now for having a house and a child

You should have a tax accountant.

Technically you are supposed to get back a minimal amount. The money you are letting the govt take should be invested before tax.

That’s what I thought too. I made just over 80k in 2018 but 96k in 2019
