Not a scam at all, if your phone breaks after only 2 months of having a 1000 phone that's $14 in monthly payments total(so far) and maybe a $200 deductible for a $1000 phone. Hell I can get phone insurance right now and immediately file a claim saying I lost the newest iPhone and I'll get one the next day for only that say $200 deductibleOne other thing, DO NOT GET PHONE INSURANCE. That shyt is a scam and you almost always have to pay a deductible.
I stay with the latest top of the line Samsungs, but I never pay regular price for it. If you look closely, you can get them for 75% off or free. My current 22 Ultra was $250

By that logic, you also shouldn't get car insurance because you almost always have to pay a deductible. One other thing, DO NOT GET PHONE INSURANCE. That shyt is a scam and you almost always have to pay a deductible.
shyt im about to lie and say I lost "my" "Samsung Galaxy fold" and I only gotta pay $250 or less for the deductible then cancel the plan after i get the phone so its def not a scam if anything its a scam for them if you know how to use it rightBy that logic, you also shouldn't get car insurance because you almost always have to pay a deductible.
Pay a $200 deductible if your phone is lost, stolen or broken
-OR-
Pay the full price of whatever is left on your phone, then buy a new one.
Which sounds better to you?
Ignoring that this thread is about why $1,000 phones are a waste of money, here's an article that uses your hypothetical #s to explain why phone insurance is a waste of time:Not a scam at all, if your phone breaks after only 2 months of having a 1000 phone that's $14 in monthly payments total(so far) and maybe a $200 deductible for a $1000 phone. If You Have $1,000+ In Savings, Cancel Cell Phone Insurance
[...] Stop paying for smartphone insurance. Here’s why. Say you bought a new iPhone for $1,000, pay $13 a month for insurance and have a deductible of $199. Well, the average person keeps their iPhone for two years. So, over those twenty-four months, you are going to pay $312 in smartphone insurance. Let’s just say that sometime, within those two years, you file a claim just once. Over those two years, you ended up forking over $511 in insurance and deductible costs. The phone costs $1,000 to replace and you just paid $511 to insure the difference of that phone, which is only $489. So, you are paying over 50% of the original value of the phone to insure something just once that is now, most likely, worth less than $1,000 all while having $1,000 or more in the bank.
Don't make me get @winb83 in here to teach yall Personal Finance basics lol.By that logic, you also shouldn't get car insurance because you almost always have to pay a deductible.
