Don't drink through straws, drink anything too hot or cold. Do a warm salt water rinse, obviously the others advice is worth listening to as well. If I think of anything else I'll come back and edit this post.

1st day, nothing but light liquid (water, juice, soup broth)

2nd day, creamy liquids and yogurt...maybe even ice cream.

3rd day, soft foods (mashed potatoes, oatmeal)

4th day, try to resume your regular diet.

Like someone said, refrain from smoking or even drinking. Also, do NOT use straws. Don't even spit blood that first day, let it fall out of your mouth.

Damn theydidn't give you a list? Normally they give you a whole printout.

Soft foods like yogurt , ice cream, soups, broth, I'll see if I can find a list online.

Unfortunately not all dentists and doctors are the same. Some will go into detail about aftercare others don't say much. It really depends on if you're lucky to have one that runs through the list.
