Just got racially profiled smh

I went to go grab some water from Safeway. I noticed security following me around but thought nothing of it.

As soon I was about to pay for my stuff he came at me like "haven't I spoken to you before"

Me: what!??? I never spoken to u..what are u talking about???

Him: sorry man...you look like..facial hair..blah blah

I'm fuming right now...coli fam, tell me how to deal with this situation professionally.

Im in my late 20's, a grown ass man. I guess I was fortunate enough to never have experienced it.

I'm going back to the store tommorow to file a complaint but I don't know if anything good will come from it.

Whenever this happens I just stop going to the individual store, filing a complaint goes nowhere, they'll just throw that shyt out and pat him on the back for "doing his jobs" (a lot of guards are told to follow/ watch black patrons BY their employer)

It's funny because I take my black ass into any of these stores... with the face and no one fukks with me. I buy what I need and leave... and if security got something to say... Let's go back to the security office and rewind the tape...

Seattle, right around my area...been a regular customer for 10+ years and never had an incident before this.

never really bothered by profiling in stores. I fukk with them (the workers) whenever they come at me because I know what I’m there for and most workers inside these places don’t have a clue about watching someone to see if they’ve shoplifted. There have been times when I seen workers profile one person and then totally miss the real shoplifter. Last one happened about 2 months ago at a service stop in England. Seen a white man steal bottles of champagne and run out the building. By the time they realized they got ‘got’, the man was already out of sight and off the premises. If they were less concerned with me and my friends shoplifting, they would have noticed the white man stealing alcohol

Most security is scared off when you actually make eye contact with them though. That is, unless, they just want to fukk with you and they have that bully syndrome. But most I’ve seen, whenever I make eye contact with any law enforcement, they usually change their tune, or reveal their mood.

Appreciate the response, I'm calm now but I was heated when I made the thread. The cashier was actually a young black girl and she apologized to me after I bought my stuff. I just never experienced it before and didn't know how to deal with it.
