If it aint there what do I do?
I'm serious - tell them to kick rocks. People say "you don't want to be a grunt" well, okay - but you DEFINITELY don't want to be a grunt in this new downsizing Army. Ask any of the coli military brehs. That life is terrible.
Depending on your ASVAB score, your options will widen or shrink. Don't know if you got a family or anything but you definitely want something in the communications, intel, or medical fields just because they're always practical and will work for you long-term. Either way, don't believe shyt a recruiter says unless there's writing behind it and don't sign a thing until you've read it over twice and thought on it for a week.
Army is nice because its the only branch that will actually guarantee you the job that you sign up for. However, it can lock you into some dumb shyt just as fast and relocating is very, very difficult especially for 1st contract guys.
But seriously - if you don't see something you actually want to do and see yourself doing, just tell them you ain't interested or better yet find a job you do want and get put on a waiting list (first come first serve basically).
