My dad had Jazzmatazz and Hard To Earn when I was a kid and I listened to that a bunch but I never really got into Gangstarrs discog all over, and wow I've been spinning this every day for the last few days.

I can't even lie, i've never heard of this shyt in all my millennial years, insane how good this is, how have I not heard this shyt or even of it?

Company Flow - Funcrusher Plus

I hate white rappers and I just thought this was El-P from Run The Jewels(which I enjoy) solo or something, I've seen this cover floating around for years but always disregarded it, this is amazing.

What else have I missed that the real heads would know?

I'd say pick a year(88 to 99).. and look at what was released and go from there..

All of the Gangstarr stuff is peak. The 1st lp is "dated",


and the 2nd less so. Step in the Arena



The 3rd lp is prolly my favorite. Daily Operation. I think this is THE quintessential Primo track.

This is representative, not the best song on the lp.

To me, as an old head, this is the worst part.

I could and should be listening to some really great records, regularly! I can't remember the last time I gave Mecca and the Soul Brother a spin, etc. It's probably been decades.
