There aren't many black folk in public accounting either. Each time I look at the new hires at the office I'm in ever so more slightly disappointed. Then again, public accounting isn't exactly a desirable position and it doesn't pay that great, relatively speaking.

So you not gonna count the HR Department?

I dont know what kinda IT contract or agency position you have breh but the bigger contracts i've worked im interacting with all the departments and personel of the company, even supporting the other locations remotely.

Actualy thats an PR function. I'm an accountant myself (but higher up than A/R , meaning full on income statement, balance sheet recons/je's cash forecasting the whole nine)

Ya'll young nikkas laughing but A/R can make good money, especially for LA (latin american) accounts. And its not all just bill collecting.

OP check out hte networking game, that's how they do it. a job comes up, and sometiems it never even hits the paper because people get their acquaintances hooked up first. If there isn't one, we need to create a network of black people looking for work.

Why not? easy low stress work. Some Growth potential. i can get them earning up 50k a year with just a highschool diploma after two years. Why do people dismiss this when its so easy?

Man I tried NOT to call our IT peeps if I could, because my spreadsheets for cashflow forecasting/ FA rollfowards and Depreciation forecasting were a BEAST! Them shyts were huge so I always save copies before they are due to the board of directors.
