Damn I had to do some quick googles, Antoine Walker was actually a handsome man, That's crazy cause I always remember him being flabby even when he was in the league

To pinpoint the one reason why the Pacers lost last night, look no further than Myles Turner:

- Lazy ass box outs leading to offensive boards for OKC and quick put backs (OKC had 12 ORB)
- 0/6 from 3
- 2 rebounds :mjlol: Breh should be able to sleepwalk to at least 7 rebounds
- Zero blocks to make up for his trash ass rebounding ability
- 12 points on 30% shooting is inexcusable for a big

At least they knew to get their big ass in the paint to rebound and rim protect.

Turner soft ass is averaging like 2 rebounds a game and hanging out on the perimeter chucking 3's... :deadrose:

I'd rather have my 5 play like a 5...but you're a known water carrier for today's game so...:yeshrug:
Turner averages more rebounds and blocks than all of them. :unimpressed:

Centers were not better in the '00s :mjlol:

'00s was basically one carryover from the 90s still in his prime (Shaq) surrounded by skill-less stiffs (Dampier, Nesterovic, Jahidi White), flawed Gobert archetypes (Ben Wallace, Theo Ratlif), and oversized finesse power forwards (Dirk, KG, Rasheed) who shied away from playing center, aside from Tim.

Biggest what-if would probably have been Yao, who was a coulda woulda shoulda like Embiid but several tiers below athletically.

*looks at Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Kendrick Perkins, Eric Dampier, and Joel Anthony starting at center on finals teams from 2005-12*

i do agree the game is more skilled today.. but with that.. the players r less disciplined..

where as back in the day.. big knew not to shoot 3s... so he was in the post all day .. now a big can do whatever.. so they do whatever despite it not working all the time

I think the players were skilled then as well, just in a different way. Players now play in space and don't know how to play with their back to the basket. Big men also played in the paint and knew how to control the post. They are both as effective in different ways. Players now play the perimeter and draw out defenders and looks for 3s, players then would clog the paint and could open up shots for wing players or you could drive and kick the ball out or play the midrange game. Honestly that's why scoring hasn't changed much through the years, it only changed when teams slowed the games down through running certain offenses. You also see a player like Shai who led the league in scoring or a player like Kawhi being effective playing 90s style ball.

You can't directly compare eras.....in ANY sport. The game and the players evolve

The average NBA big man today is wayyyyyyy more skilled than the average big man 40 years ago. Just like the average nfl defense is lightyears beyond defenses 40 years ago, ect.

Its all the other shyt around them that changes which warps people's perception. Maybe schemes, rules, pacing, ect change and thats exactly why its impossible to compare them.

Now there will be outliers and supremely talented people who transcend eras, but those people are rare. Its just how humans work lol, we get better at shyt over time. It literally applies to everything :mjlol:
