CL Smooth is great. He performed several of his classics.

Connected with the crowd. Talked to us. He spit every verse proper. Played the TROY sample before going into the song.

59 years old. Packed show. Over 400 people.

He mentioned he grew up with Puffy something like that. I'm not sure if they knew each other.

But he alluded to the fact that tonight this was pure hip hop. And Puffy's decisions led him to being in jail presently.

It was massive love.

One of the greatest hip hop shows I've seen in my life actually.

An actual Emcee. Master of Ceremonies.

What ethnicity were the crowd?

Primarily black. Then some white and Asian fans I'd say.

It was really dope.

He had these talks in between and again contrasting Puffy - he talked about right living.

Tori showed him ton of love.

I don't think he even expected such a dope Crowd.

I can only imagine what its like to see him live in New York.

Anyone see him in NY?

CL also spoke about the importance of living right. And he spoke on spiritual things - the stairs to heaven, ancestors in heaven supporting us here and how we have alot of work to do here.

I never knew he could hold down a solo performance like that. Crew on stage too.

Smoking weed on stage....then joking with the crowd - what the fukk are you smoking? Lol

Cause he the ppl in the front were puffing a godfather spiff or cigar. I couldn't tell but he was saying how huge the roll was lol pure jokes

To think he had everyone listening to him in New York City and the US in the early 90s. Pre 92.

This was the emcee to see live.

If he goes to your city - go!

Dope! What type of venue was it?

Concert hall. The Phoenix. Actually situated in between some streets that's completely crime ridden. Downtown Toronto.

But none of that usually spills into the club. I've seen Rakim, Necro and Riff Raff there before.

. . . this one from 2008 . . .. thats the last time anything from him jumped out at me . . . . even if the production sounds like a watered-down version of what Pete was doing in the late-90s when he was tryin to sound like Primo with the stutter-chops and scratched-hooks . ..
