I liked Iron Man 2, but I didn't love it.

:mjpls:u were doing good until this right here. Not that I think cheadle was a suitable replacement but at least his rhodes is a sidekick with a spine and not a :wrist: walkover howard was.

how was he a walk over? He scolded Tony at the air base, when he first tried to tell him about the iron man project, and also he just did better job interacting with RDJ. In the scenes when their on the plane together, when Tony gets brought back, and when Tony calls him while he's hanging on the jet fighter, they were all good exchanges and made their friendship believable.
The reason the movie was well received was because it was well acted by the cast, making it an interesting movie with the limited action. Rhodes covered for Tony instead of ratting him out his superiors in the military, but in Iron Man 2 he's basically a military dog, doing their bidding at the expense of his friendship.

He came off as a nagging wife while tony looked like this mischievous rebel which seemed kind of infantile. And as for the other part it depends what kind of dynamic you want in the pairing. With howards effeminate voice coupled with tony's F the rules attitude rhodes just seemed like an emasculated bag handler. When RDJ is on screen with cheadle I see equals :manny:

I never bothered to watch the 2nd. The first one was cool enough to keep me interested. Sometimes I have to channel my eight year old self to really get into these movies, but it's entertaining to say the least to watch these Marvel comics come to life now.

I'm actually going back to watch a lot of the Marvel movies that I've missed the past few years. When I read the good reviews for Avengers, I figured that I needed to go back and play catch up. From what I understand, here's the order that they go in:

Movie - Seen it?
Iron Man - [X]
Incredible Hulk - [X]
Iron Man 2 - [ ]
Thor - [ ]
Captain America - [ ]
Avengers - [ ]

I saw the new Spider-Man movie, and it was good, but it's not in that same arc.

I've heard good things about Iron Man 3 as well, so I might as well consider that movie list above as the list leading to IM3

Sorry but your wrong. I gave you examples of scenes where Terrance displayed great actor on par with RDJ you can't provide any because there is none, trust man I study films as a writer. Terrance looked and acted like a military man, they had an employer/employee relationship as well as a friendship that was of equal respect and dependence on each other. Cheadle couldn't even fill out the uniform, he looked old and frail. Everything he did in Iron 2 was in conflict with Tony, he was the dumb side kick, plus non of their back and forth banter stood out, when Terrance was just as witty and one the same tone as RDJ
