Overall enjoyed this movie. Never watched any of the other Lego movies so I can't compare. Liam Neeson voice acting as the good/bad cop was nice. Chris Pratt who played the lead character Emmet. He's basically a dork who has no real friends. And is prophesied to save the people from the evil president, Lord Business, who played by Will Farrell. Will did his thing as the villain. Def. had Lego universe on lock. And had no heart

Overall, they used different formulas you've seen in other animated films. The Shrek formula in taking familiar characters and bringing them in a whole new setting (for example Batman, Wonder Woman). Action adventure war type scene (i.e. Star Wars).

Humor wise, I laughed out loud some which is good sign. Because a lot these films have some corny humor. But this one had some hits. Some misses. A lot of it was funny when they took familiar movies and gave it twist (i.e. the Shrek formula)

Morgan Freeman was funny in here as some type of Moses character And if you know Morgan Freeman movies you know things are not what they seem with his characters. Without giving to much away. Will Arnett who plays Batman/Bruce Wayne was another funny character. And he does it in Christian Bale deep voice.

The worst part though was the last 20 minutes Things slow downed way too much. And they tried too hard to push their positive message. Became way too serious. I even heard a kid say out loud "Is it over yet?" They needed to learn to sneak in the message. Instead of pushing "Just believe" crap I get why they did it but it just wasn't execute well. Movie could have been 90 minutes. Instead of 110 minutes. But overall action adventure, humor. It's a good film. Not on Frozen or Despicable Me 2 level. But for a February film. It's worth it.

It's not on the level of Toy Story.

But it's pretty excellent.

Lego da gawd. 69 million. Opening weekend. And this is with bad weather. Imagine part 2 opening in the summer. 90 million easily. Watch.
