Regular shaving cream gets me with razor burn.

In reality a lot of the chemicals in shaving creams promote razor burn. We should be using shaving soap or shaving lotion (this has helped me a lot).
Many advocate getting the hairs to stand straight up and shave with the hair...idea being that shaving against causes more irritation and more likely to cause ingrown hairs. Want the hairs to be warm and soft. Also, alcohol afterwards causes your skin to tighten and dry, not good. Use lotion afterwards.
