Cole fan whatsoever until his "Water Break" live radio freestyle performance on Hip-Hop Nation with Green Lantern and 'em, at which time he was basically making the rounds formally announcing he was the first official Roc Nation signee.

Besides the The Come Up, his first ever tape, dropped like 2 years earlier. That site was filled with nothing but bleating sheep when it came to newer artists and that's pretty much a documented fact.
