Right. If they do not call you, then DO CALL THEM.
And get your results IN WRITING (email or hard copy). You want to read your lab results. A phone call stating that you're clean won't do.
the wait after taking an HIV test is the most crucial thing someone can go through...denial, think about who is suspect, finally acceptance..then you get the results then bam george jefferson walk right out the clinic...i used to get tested twice a year..now its only once...im only fukking one chick so its all good..that relationship life

That was me 2 months ago. I've vowed to abstain from demonic activity ever since.
The reason why some tests takes days is because medical technologists have to test and retest specimens and other std's we have to grow on a Petri dish. Even after you get a positive result you may even have to titer it to estimate viral load.
Just to be safe I'd go to more than one clinic or hospital too. For the most part, med techs are on their shyt but you can have false negative results and I bet they get called out more often than not. The false negatives can occur when nurse doesnt get enough sample or the specimen isnt viable period. On top of that a lot of rapid test can only tell if you're positive and not if you're weakly reactiver or dormant.
Long story short, don't get tested once and be done because its way easier to get a Negative result than a positive. Get tested regularly especially with new partners and be safe out there.
