Just wasted $9 & 3 hours watching Cloud Atlas

Is this the sequel to Atlas Shrugged? Thats what I thought it was supposed to be since that was a TBC.

I took it that the actors weren't always the same souls. But the same souls were always searching/waiting for each other.
