I'm shocked that even Spike Lee gotten this made. This was made back in the year 2000, when a lot of rappers were not trying to hear that pro black message on black history. Thats the same era that people ripped Nas apart for being pro-black after he dropped Stillmatic in late 2001.

This thread made me give my Bamboozled dvd another watch.
I'm actually watching it as I'm typing this, and the main thing I keep thinking is how relevant this movie is on 2020. From Manray dancing on a table like Bobby Shmurda, to Honeycutt being the Steve Harvey style likable negro, to the good white people in the audience pretending to being outraged by the minstrel show but actually loving it, and of course, the all white writing team for Pierre's show. Pierre even said the ol' "Black people are not a monolith" line.
Spike Lee was all the way in his bag when he wrote and directed this film.

Son, the Michael Rapaport scene of him saying the N word, claiming that he married to a black woman and have 2 mixed kids is when you re watch it. And the part with the all-white writers in that room legit made me think of all the black shows and the shyt that they influenced black folk with, from "Good Times" to "Wayans Bros".

Straight up an eye opener. A paradigm changer.
