fukk rudy. He wasn't ever shyt. Those plays barely happened in real life, the whole movie basically saved by it's archetypal 'magic negro' character which is racist in and of itself, and would be a disgrace if it's wasn't played so brilliantly by charles dutton.
Rudy owed his whole life to that janitor, and how did he repay him?
The whole movie is just the widely-carried hope that a below average white person can someday be celebrated as if he's great.
If Rudy in real life was black, the white janitor would have accused him of stealing, notre dame would have pressed charges, and he would have ended up a wrongly-convicted felon - and the movie would be about the no-nonsense prosecutor that helped put him away.
