Amber Tamblyn rose to fame playing Emily Quartermaine on ABC’sGeneral Hospital, and she later drew critical acclaim for her roles in CBS’s Joan of Arcadia, Fox’s medical drama House, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films.
This fall, however, she will test her comedic chops in her first-ever sitcom, as she joins Two and a Half Men for its 11th season. She’ll play Jenny, the long-lost lesbian daughter of Charlie Sheen’s former character, the hedonistic womanizer Charlie Harper, and from the way Tamblyn tells it, Jenny is a chip off the old block.
“She’s unapologetic, and she likes to have fun,” Tamblyn told Parade.com. “She’s in her mid-twenties and trying to figure out who and what she is. She’s got a real sort of low-register voice and she’s pretty tough and she laughs at inappropriate places about really disgusting, foul things. And in general, she is just from rough stock, with an appetite for booze. That makes for some great television!”
Tamblyn chatted with Parade.com about the “absolutely terrifying” experience of filming a sitcom, her surprising acting inspiration, and what it’s really like to work with Ashton Kutcher.
