Exactly. The whole 'we all tell racial jokes' thing is completely missing the point. Yeah we all tell racial jokes...about white people smelling like wet dog..or mexicans getting drunk as fukk...or cheating on the Asian kid in class...or even a few black jokes about fried chicken or something. Those are racial jokes.
see, it isn't even a joke. that's the problem and why black fans of bieber should rethink how they feel about him. a racial joke might be something about an asian guy and how he's driving his car, playing off that old idea that asians are bad drivers because of their slanted eyes. whether that's funny is up to you. but that's a joke. it's humor.
what bieber did is make a comment about the term "******," which has no humor in it. it's a historically racist term to reference blacks. what bieber said is derogatory. "run ****** ****** ****** ****** run ****** ****** ******"
that's pretty blatant in its meaning. it's directly referring to blacks as "******s." it's giving power to the term "******," validating its use.
this is a career killer, as far as i'm concerned. but this is america.
Joking about ******s being chased by chainsaws doesn't seem like a joke or funny. It's right off st0rmfr0nt.
I can't imagine people'll be saying 'we all say jokes in private' if the joke was about Jews being a great way to heat up an oven.
