You can't be a top 5 QB honestly if you miss easy throws. Absolutely not top 3.
Top 3-5 QB's have insane games where they're like 26/29 with 4-5 touchdowns, zero interceptions against a solid defense - absolutely hitting tight windows and making the right decisions with all types of passing precision. No problem hitting the easy passes, no problem hitting the hard passes. Like a 150+ passer rating, Drew Brees type of game playing pure QB.
I can't see Herbert doing that.
Dude got a strong arm, but not a finesse one. Additionally his timing ain't the best.
Loading up for a deep or intermediate laser throws dude shines, but you can clearly tell for softer throws, throws that need to float over the defense and touch pass fade routes dude is really uncomfortable.
Through 4 years that guy has left a lot of points on the table if we're being honest.
Missing easy throws is like a WR who drops easy passes - they're absolute drive killers.
If you hit your easy passes then you wouldn't have to worry about game-winning drives.
I'm personally tired of watching the Chargers need game winning drives to beat (or lose to) teams like the Broncos.
There's blame for everyone on that team and Herbert isn't immune from it.
