Trent Dilfer did more than Dan Marino in the post season. Why are we supposed to accept Marino being better than Dilfer? Because maybe football is a team sport and wins aren't a QB stat. If a player doesn't play well in the post season (like Herbert yesterday) then address their play specifically, but there have been worse QBs who have played worse in playoff games than Herbert did yesterday and came away with wins.

What a fukkin reach :dead:

Assuming they have the same squad, I'm just as nervous, if not more, with Herbert on the other side. Herbert is basically on Peyton Manning's path right now. 0-3 in the playoffs entering age 28 year with one of those Ls being a horrible performance, regular season warrior with disappointing postseason results, questions about whether they can ever get over the hump. Caleb is having his first good season right now, and he's green. I hope he turns into a monster, but it's too early to be crowning dude because his team won one playoff game. Let him cook a little.
Insanity, you're better off using Matt Ryan or even Stafford to try and get that 0-3 analogy across.

Comparing him to one of one of the 5 greatest QBs that ever lived (who was already an MVP by this stage of their career with multiple playoff wins) is why people shyt on this big stiff everytime he malfunctions in January.

@murksiderock let it rip let's see who >>>>>Herbert
The Big 4...

Hurts, Goff, Dak, Love...

Old ass Padford...

Wanna see how the following guys finish their season, but potentially Purdy, Darnold, Nix, Maye, Caleb...

Ain't no more Top 5 conversation for this saltine anymore, the real question is, is he even a Top 10 QB. Because I got to 9 clearly better than him pretty easily.

He probably aint top 10. Purdy easily over him. Personally I put Caleb over him. Issues with caleb can be ironed out with more experience imo.
All this potential he has doesnt make a difference if he fukking up like he is.

Isn’t there such a thing as being too tall to be an elite QB? Herbert is really tall, basically 6’7. We haven’t seen elite QBs at that height for a reason. I’ve heard it has something to do with the longer throwing arc making it harder to release the ball as quickly.

Insanity? Why? Herbert just played his age 27 season and has had 3 trips to the playoffs, same as Peyton in his age 27 season:

Manning: 0-3 record, 47.6 completion percentage, 588 yards, 1TD, 2INTS, 59.1 rating.
Herbert: 0-3 record, 54.7 completion percentage, 674 yards, 2TDs, 4INTS, 64.7 rating.

Both Manning and Herbert at this point in their careers were considered regular season merchants with mental issues that prevented them from performing in the playoffs. Same conversations were happening with Manning that are happening now with Herbert.

You're letting hindsight get the best of you. Manning was not considered one of the greatest QBs to ever live at age 27, he was considered an elite QB who might never be able to become a GOAT because he collapsed in the playoffs. He had just lost to the Jets 0-41 in a wild card disasterclass, and people were shytting on him as a bighead stiff who malfunctions in January as well.
